Topaz in color with golden reflections. Dry and delicate on the palate, with a wide array of flavors including caramel, vanilla, dried almonds and raisins.

Gorgeous, saffron/harvest gold color; unblemished clarity. Opening sniffs encounter delicate aromas of almonds, peach pit, and new leather; -additional air contact brings out cognac-like scents of new oak, ripe grapes, honey, unsalted butter, and cooking oil. Entry features light toffee, light fudge, brown butter, and oloroso sherry. Finishes quietly but elegantly. I last formally evaluated this fine brandy for the SJ way, way back in 1991 and termed it then as the most "cognaclike" Brandy de Jerez. That viewpoint holds as true today as does the rating.
